All players should play in the division that aligns with their age in accordance with USA Softball age charts.  This is best for skill development, safety, fun, and social development.  Only in very rare circumstances is it appropriate to request an exception.  The policy on play-ups follows.

Spring Season Play Up Policy:

1.     Play up requests must be submitted to the age appropriate Division Commissioner and President who create a master list. Contact info can be found here: https://www.beachsoftball.org/Default.aspx?tabid=1156117.

2.     Players can only request to play up one division level.

3.     Players requesting to play up a division must demonstrate that they are a top 25% in the higher Division. This will be accomplished by having the player attend the higher Division evaluation. The 25% ranking will be based on the average score of the “overall” player score. One HC from each divisions recreational team is invited to score players at evaluations.

4.     In order for player to play up for Select, they must make the higher division Gold team.

6.     In order for a player to play up for All Stars, they must be voted onto the Gold team by unanimous vote of the regular season Head Coaches.

Beach Softball’s President and Division Commissioner of the higher division reserves the right to override the decision to approve or deny a play-up request.
