WHAT IS SELECT

The Fall Select Program, developed by USA Softball, allows competitive players to train and play together during the recreational season. 

• Tryouts are held in the Fall and Spring. 
• Making a Select team does not guarantee placement on an All-Star team. 
• Select teams will have additional practices, games and likely at least one tournament. There will be travel for games and tournament. USA Softball does limit the number of activities for Select to one activity (game/practice) per week. 
• Typically Beach Softball has at least one Select Team for 8U, 10U and 12U (often 14U) in the Fall and Spring. 
• The Select teams have an additional registration fee to cover umpires, tournament fees and sometimes uniforms. 

HOW SELECT DIFFERS FROM REC

Select is for the most competitive players in each division, with a focus on high level practices and competition. 

• Requires more committment from players and families.
• Teams are built to be as competitive as possible. 
• Enhances skills, game knowledge, and overall play.
