When Is the Beach Softball Hit-A-Thon?

Saturday, March 16 at Marine West Field. Picture Day will also be held at the same time. 

Your daughter's team will be assigned a time slot, which will be communicated by the Head Coach. 

What is the Beach Softball Hit-A-Thon?

The Hit-A-Thon is our league’s only fundraising event. Like walk-a-thons, dance-a-thons and any other kind of “thon”, the Hit-A-Thon is a pledge-based based fundraising event. Players ask friends and families to donate on either a lump sum or per-hit basis. During the event, every player will get 10 swings of the bat against coach pitch; the number of hits will determine how much they raise for the league. 

Why Does Beach Softball Need A Fundraiser?

The Hit-A-Thon is our league’s only fundraising event. We do not operate a snack bar or have other meaningful sources of additional revenue. While registration fees cover many of the season’s recurring operating costs, the proceeds from the Hit-A-Thon allow our league to invest for the long-term in player development, equipment, competitive All Star programs and needs-based scholarships.

Where Will My Donation Go?

Our goal is to build the South Bay's premier girls recreational softball league.  We are investing in the following ways to achieve this goal:

Player development. Over the course of the season our league hosts various clinics - led by professional coaches - that are open to all players. These clinics are offered for free or at a discount. As a result of our past fundraising we are able to partner with area high school and college coaches, leading specialty (hitting, pitching, and catching) coaches, and even D-1 athletes!

Equipment. We want to ensure that our coaches have all of the tools they need to teach our kids.

Other Financial Support. Finally, we offer financial support to make recreational and All Star play accessible to everyone.

How Do I Donate?

We use a third-party site to manage pledges and donations. The site will be activated soon. 

How Much Should I Donate?

Our board has set a fundraising target of $100/player. This will allow us to achieve our goals.
